Yoga for Athletes

I work with professional athletes to help them in competitive performances.

From a physical point of view, my classes aim to improve the athletes’ flexibility, balance, coordination, and strength. Practicing how to breathe deeply and fully can also help athletes manage performance and competition-related stress more efficiently.

I believe that yoga is a fundamental addition to the intense weekly training schedule for those who practice sports at high standards, both physically and mentally.

I teach classes in Italian and English.

How can athletes benefit from a regular yoga practice:

Improved Mobility and Range of Motion: learn to move with control, develop a greater range of motion and stability in your joints and muscles

Improved Coordination, Flexibility and Balance: increase body awareness and proprioception, enhancing performance and making training more efficient

Increased Respiratory Capacity: learn to expand and control the capacity of your breath to increase focus and concentration while simultaneously reducing stress

Improved Core Strength: a complete yoga practice requires the movement of many major and minor muscle groups simultaneously and it focuses on proper muscular and skeletal alignment promoting the optimal core activation

Improved Mental Focus: when practiced with attention to our breathing, yoga can offer the awareness and mindfulness athletes need to take their training and performance to the next level

Reduced Muscle Tension and Strain: muscle recovery for athletes is of utmost importance and is a very critical part of sports and any kind of physical training.
Balance the body’s needs with gentle stretches that lengthen your muscles and restore nutrition in the connective tissues, become more in tune with your body to reduce the chance of injuries in the long term.
